Cupping Treatment

Cupping is a technique that uses vacuum for negative pressure, rather than tissue compression.

The vacuum draws up underlying tissues and superficial muscles, and when left on the skin for 10 to 15 minutes, the flow of blood and lymph increases and dead cells come out to the surface of the skin.

The suction and negative pressure provided by cupping can loosen muscles, encourage blood flow, and sedate the nervous system.

This technique is used to treat muscle soreness, stiffness and tension. After cupping, it is natural that marks will appear and stay 3 days to a week depending on how much dead blood, lymph and waste products are drawn out to the surface. The colour ranges from pink/bright red to dark red/purple.

Generally, cupping is combined with massage in one treatment.

Cupping is used to relieve back and neck pains, stiff muscles, anxiety, fatigue, migraines, rheumatism.

It will give you the feeling of a deep tissue massage, but can also have a larger number of benefits than just with a massage.
